Fairfield celebrates 125th year of agricultural fair

Greenfield Hill Grange #133 will be presenting this 125th annual Agricultural Fair later in August.

The Grange is selecting agricultural experts to judge exhibits of vegetables, fruits, flowers and baked goods that have been submitted by locals. Amateur photographers are taking their prize shots to local Print shops to get good Copies for the photography contest.

Local artists and craftspeople are putting finishing touches on their original works so they can display them at the fair. Attendees may want to ask for Business Cards from these artisans so they can get in touch with them later for custom work or to buy some of their creations.

Everyone is invited to join in the games and buy raffle tickets. The venue will have vendors with refreshments and food available for purchase.

Lectures given by grange members will be on agricultural themes. Some of these will be antique farm tools, raising chickens, and an overview of Fairfield’s Community Garden.

The Grange is a non-profit organization that’s mission is to provide members with opportunities for fellowship and networking in a safe family-friendly atmosphere, to serve the community through assistance programs, and to get involved in federal, state and local government forums.

The festivities will be at Green Field Hill Grange Hall, 1873 Hillside Road from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 18.
