Fairfield Parks and Recreation’s Beach Bunny 5k has been scheduled for early April. Along with the 5k walk/skip/hop/or run, the event will feature the annual Egg Scramble. Proceeds from the race will go to Parks & Recreation’s 2023 programs.
Registration for the 5k is $35 and will end just 15 minutes before the race starts. Swag includes graphite heather T-Shirts featuring this year’s graphic design and computer chipped bibs. The one-mile Family Bunny Hop and the Easter Egg Scramble will be free for all interested participants.
Bib and T-shirt pickup will take place from Monday, April 3 through Thursday, April 6 from 10am to 6pm, as well as Friday, April 7 from 10am to 2pm at Fairfield Parks and Recreation.
Edible chocolate medallion awards will go to the first, second, and third place finishers in nine age categories.
The event will open at 8am on race day for late pickup and online registration for the 5k. The National Anthem and introductions will be at 8:45am, with the Beach Bunny 5k starting at 9:00 am. The one-mile Family Bunny Hop, which will be more of a walk, will begin an hour later at 10am. Easter costumes are encouraged.
The Children’s Easter Egg Scramble for kids over 5 years old will begin at 10:40am. The younger ones will begin their hunt at 10:50am.
Beach Bunny 5k will take place on Saturday, April 8 at Jennings Beach.
