The 4th of July is coming fast and Fairfield and some surrounding towns will be celebrating a little early this year.
Grucci fireworks will be detonated from a barge out on Long Island Sound Wednesday, July 3rd around 9:15 pm at the Independence Day Fireworks Show. They can be seen from Jennings Beach, 880 Benson Road as well as from Penfield Beach at 323 Fairfield Beach Road. WEBE 108 will be providing entertainment at both beaches from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
Everyone is encouraged to get there early because parking passes will only be given to the first 100 vehicles to park at Penfield Beach and the first 300 vehicles to park at Jennings Beach. Passes will be $50 each. Ash Creek Open Space Parking Lot will also charge for parking that day.
Stratford will also be celebrating the 4th on the 3rd. They will have their fireworks display at Short Beach Park, 99 Dorne Drive, Stratford. Theirs will start after sundown at about 9:00 pm.
Bridgeport will have theirs even sooner. Their Barnum’s Skyblast Fireworks will be over Long Island Sound June 28th at 9:00 pm. This event will have live music and will be free.
Trumbull will have their fireworks on Trumbull Day, June 29th at Trumbull High School.
This time of year families like to get colorful T-Shirts printed with an event graphic design on them to show unity when attending events such as these.
