City has five holiday events scheduled

The City of Fairfield will celebrate the holiday season with five events between now and Christmas.

It all begins on Sunday, November 28 with Santa’s Arrival Fairfield 2021. He will be coming to Sherman Green (on the corner of Reef and Post Roads) at 10:00 am on a hook and ladder fire truck and will talk with the children until 2:00 pm.

Local non-profit organizations, scout troops, and schools will be handing out information about their programs and missions, with some no doubt putting in their flyer printing orders in advance. Some will use the time to fundraise by selling chamber-approved items.

Guests can enjoy the petting zoo and traditional horse and wagon rides, along with breakfast sandwiches and burgers from a local food vendor.

Menorah Lighting will also take place on Sherman Green that afternoon from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and again on December 5 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The city’s Christmas Tree Lighting will take place Friday, December 3 on the Town Hall Green, 611 Post Road. Local choirs will perform starting at 5:15 pm, Fairfield Center Stage will perform at 6:45 pm, and the tree lighting ceremony will be at 7:00 pm.

Santa will be having breakfast with little ones at Fairfield Ludlowe High School from 10:00 am to noon on December 11.

Finally, CT Dance School will present Nutcracker 2021 with two performances on December 12 at Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center. More than 130 CD students will participate.
