Car show makes third appearance in town

Fairfield University will be the site for the Annual Antique and Classic Car Show for the third year early in August.

It will be presented by the Connecticut Seaport Car Club. All benefits will go to the Shriner Children’s Hospitals and other local charities.

All show vehicles can take part, and there will be no cut off year. Trophies will be awarded, and over 200 dash plaques will be distributed. There will be a local DJ providing music, and the Port 5 Naval Veterans will be offering food for purchase. Each car entry will receive a goodie bag of Promotional Products, and coupons contributed by local car-related businesses.

Guests will be able to join in trivia and games to win prizes. Vendors will be selling merchandise, and a vintage Good Humor truck will be selling ice cream treats.

No preregistration is required and everyone will pay at the entrance. Show car admission will be $15, and spectators will pay a $5 entrance fee. Kids 12 and under and students with IDs will get in free.

The show will be Saturday, August 5 in Fairfield at the Quick Center Campus of Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Road. It will start at 9:00 am and wind down around 3:00 pm after the awards are presented. Port 5 Naval Veterans will be holding an Honor Guard Ceremony at 12:00 noon.
