Book store celebrates more than the season

The Fairfield University Book Store is marking its 5th anniversary with a two-day event. Free Books will be available for authors to sign and activities will be continuing throughout the two days.

With live music, raffle prizes, costume characters, balloons, and giveaways throughout, the first day will have Fairfield U.A. Capella group Sweet Harmony & the Bensonians at noon. At 1:00 pm, kids can visit the North Pole Ninja and Santa.

The last day will have children’s author and illustrator Claire Pernice conducting a ‘Words & Pictures’ workshop at 1:00 pm. Following her at 2:00 pm will be a demonstration by Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop Interactive Music and Animation.

The store will also be presenting a Grinch and Toys for Tots event. Everyone will get to meet the Grinch and listen to the story as told by Judge Dan Caruso. Pictures taken with the green curmudgeon would make interesting Holiday Cards.

Guests are asked to donate a toy for ‘Toys for Tots’. Children aged years and older accompanied by an adult are invited to attend, with an RSVP required.

The 5th year anniversary event is slated for Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road Downtown Fairfield.

The Grinch event will take place December 17 on the second floor at 3:00 pm.
