Bridgeport’s 75th annual Barnum Festival continues in May with Celebrity Bartending, King and Queen Coronation, Whip Whistle and Watch, and the Ringmaster’s Ball.
The first May event for the festival will be the Celebrity Bartending evening. Honorary bartenders will be this year’s festival Ringmaster George Estrada along with the 2020 Ringmaster Frank Gennarini, and Chairperson Greg Gnandt. The music will be by Sapphire and the evening will be replete with drink specials and 75th anniversary pizzas. Some of the proceeds and all the tips will go to funding the festival’s upcoming events.
Celebrity Bartending will take place next Monday, May 1 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Original Vazzy’s, 513 Broadbridge Road.
The King and Queen Coronation will take place May 7, beginning at 3:00 pm at Vazzy’s Four Seasons.
Pictures of the royal couple at events like this often go to local Print shops to be added to the event organizers’ advertising campaign for the following year.
Tradition continues with the presentation of P.T. Barnum’s Whip, Whistle and Watch to this year’s Ringmaster at the annual luncheon on Friday, May 12 from noon to 3:00 pm at Vazzano’s Four Seasons, 337 Kenyon Street, Stratford. Tickets will be $75.
The Ringmaster’s Ball will take place May 20 at Sacred Heart University West Campus. Fairfield attendees can enjoy the family-friendly evening, which will honor past ringmasters as well as this year’s current one.
