Greenfield Hill Grange No. 133 will be holding its annual agricultural fair in a couple of weeks. The event will be a family affair where kids can learn about farm animals and how food is grown.
Exhibits of baked goods, fruits, flowers, vegetables, and photography will be on displayed and judged. The Association of Connecticut Fairs will be hosting a baking contest.
There will be crafts, games and arts for the children, and a raffle for the adults. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Lectures will be given on topics such as antique farm tools and raising chickens. Informational Flyers and lectures will discuss Fairfield Community Gardens. Guests will be bringing their digital Business Cards to share information with the agricultural professionals and enthusiats.
This will be an opportunity for the nonprofit organization to connect with the community. Greenfield Hill Grange, the first farmers’ club in our area, is a place for adults, children and youth to meet and fellowship. It provides a space for community networking and offers service to individuals in need and donates to local charities such as soup kitchens and food banks. The grange is also a local, state, and federal grassroots voice in agricultural legislation.
The Greenfield Hill Agricultural Fair will be from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 19 at Grange Hall, 1873 Hillside Road, Fairfield.
