Annual golf event returns to Fairfield

The Kaulbach Memorial Golf Classic will be held toward the end of September. The long-running is named for Ernest W. “Ernie” Kaulbach, a local philanthropist and industrialist.

The event, which celebrates its 41st anniversary this year, will include a cocktail reception, 18 holes of golf, a gourmet brunch, and a classic dinner.

Registration will be $500 per individual player (including brunch, cocktail hour, dinner, and awards). Dinner only tickets are $50 each, and $500 hole sponsorships (including a commemorative gift) and $1,000 hole sponsors are still available. Cocktail reception ($5,000), brunch ($7,500) and dinner ($10,000) sponsors will need to forward their Logo Design to the event organizers before any banner printing takes place.

The event provides funds for the Bridgeport’s Beardsley Zoo’s “Survivor Safari,” an event that celebrates Bridgeport Hospital patients and caregivers; oncology refresh, expansion and genetic programs; and counseling services at the hospital. It also provides funds for the Agnes W. Kaulbach Nursing Scholarship.

Larger businesses and companies often give Corporate Gifts and tickets to their high-end clients to events such as this. Funds for the hospital can also be made online, and are available in $25, $50, $100, and $250 increments.

This year’s Kaulbach Memorial Golf Classic will be held Thursday, September 22 from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm at Fairfield’s Brooklawn Country Club, 500 Algonquin Road.
