Annual Fairfield Road Races return in June

MJP Wealth Advisors Fairfield Road Races will be returning for two days in early June. Charities will be Ben’s Lighthouse and Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Saturday’s events will include the 5k, and Lil’ Stags Kids ½ Mile Fun Run. Runners participating in the 5k will start the race at 8:00 am on Fairfield Beach Road, go along the coastline, run through residential areas and Veterans Park, then return to Jennings Beach. Registration is $35. Kids 12 and under in the Lil’ Stags Kids Run will start their race at 9:00 am and run through a nearby Jennings Beach neighborhood before circling back to the starting line. Registration is $12.

Runners may run in the Lucas Challenge by completing both the 5k on Day One and the Half Marathon on Day Two. Swag will include custom colored racing bibs, and Special Lucas Challenge medals. Registration for the challenge will be $100.

Race features for both the 5k and the half-marathon include 11 water stations, medical personnel at the beach and along the courses, technical running shirts sporting the event’s graphic design, and a post-race beach party replete with food, live music, beverages, vendors, and an awards ceremony.

Cheer groups and bands will urge their favorite runners along both courses. Cheer groups often get some colorful banner printing done before the race.

Fairfield Road Races will take place Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th.
