For those here in Fairfield who enjoy a good jam, an evening of acid country music will be presented in just such a format this month.
Moonalice will be offering an evening of this and other generes. It will consist largely of Americana music with a touch of the blues. The musicians who make up Moonalice are previous members of bands headed by such as greats as John Fogarty, Rod Stewart, and Jerry Garcia.
The group’s four members are John Molo (vocals), Barry Sless (lead guitar), Roger McNamee (rhythm guitar, bass, and vocals), and Pete Sears (guitar, keyboards, bass, vocals). They are seasoned jammers who believe that music is to be enjoyed as a communal experience in which artists and listeners feed off of and inspire each other. They tend to play extended musical improvisations, like those performed by bands such as the Grateful Dead.
Bringing the old classics into the future, the band will be streaming the event in real-time to fans around the world. Attendees should be sure to bring a camera, as poster printing might be a future option for them. There will also be merchandise for sale relating to other bands of the past.
The performance will be held Tuesday, July 29, at 7:45 pm at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s Stage One. Doors open at 7:00 pm, and tickets will be $ 17.
