The Colorado School of Mines in Golden will hold a series of workshops in January on current developments in geology.
New Developments in the Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits is a program where people can learn about different issues in geology from professional speakers. The courses in the event cover topics such as orogenic gold, sediment-hosted base metal deposits, and volcano-hosted massive sulfide deposits. Lunch will be provided for all guests at The Colorado School of Mines. There will also be a group dinner held on the fourth night of the program.
Many expert speakers will teach at the event, such as Richard J. Goldfarb, Zhaoshan Chang, and David Leach. Goldfarb is a volunteer research professor who studied at the University of Nevada-MacKay School of Mines and the University of Colorado. Chang works as a professor in economic geology at The Colorado School of Mines, and Leach is a research professor and consultant to the minerals industry, who was once employed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
The workshops will be held from January 3rd to January 7th. Each day of the event will start at 8:30am. Company professionals interested in the courses can pay $1,500, and students from The Colorado School of Mines will receive discounted rates.
Colleges that offer workshops like this may use poster printing to help promote their lessons to local students.
