Golden mining school to host symposium

Golden will be holding a colloid and surface science symposium at The Colorado School of Mines in July.

The 96th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium is a conference where scientists can interact and learn more about environmental topics that relate to Colorado. Multiple representatives from the school’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering will be organizing the event, such as Ning Wu and David Marr. During the conference, Amir Sheikhi from the Pennsylvania State University will be given the Unilever Award.

Several topics will be covered at the mining school’s symposium, including Colloids in Environmental Science, Biomedical Applications of Colloids, and Surface Science in Catalysis and Energy Research. The conference will also feature many professional speakers from universities, like John Brady, William Ducker, and Michael Bevan. There will even be exhibitors from organizations such as Park Systems and Harvard Bioscience. Groups that set up exhibits during events like this may use banner printing to attract more attention from attendees.

The symposium will be held from Sunday, July 10 to Wednesday, July 13. Students can pay $300 to register for the event, while exhibitors may pay $2,500. The price for members of the ACS will be $625, and non-members can purchase their tickets for $725. The cost to attend the conference’s banquet will be $75 per person. People can get discounts for the symposium by registering before May 31.
