Golden lives up to its name with sparkling event
The Denver Gem and Mineral Guild (DGMG) will soon host its annual Jewelry, Gem, and Mineral Show at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden.
The event will feature geological exhibits, hands-on activities, and educational displays. Attendees will be able to explore rare minerals, meteorites, ancient fossils, and handcrafted jewelry.
A unique event feature will be fluorescent minerals that emit vibrant colors under ultraviolet light. Visitors will also have the opportunity to observe skilled lapidary artists shaping and polishing gemstones.
Educational displays from institutions such as the Colorado Meteorite Society, the Sherman-Dugan Geological Museum, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science will be available. Private collectors will exhibit seldom-seen specimens. Guests can participate in mineral identification services, interact with local rockhounds for insights on collecting, and watch gold panning demonstrations led by Phoenix Gold Mine.
A highlight of the event is the $1 grab bag special, which will offer children a collection of eight minerals and an opportunity to win additional prizes. Attendees can also vote for their favorite educational display and enter prize drawings.
Admission and parking are free. For more details, interested individuals can visit the event listing. Organizers may use brochure printing to provide attendees with informational material at events such as this one.
