This month, a beginners’ wire wrapping class will be held in Arvada from a company that specializes in wire-wrapped jewelry.
Perfectly Twisted Jewelry will be directing the class, which will be held at Lithos – Mineral, Fossil, Meteorite, Book and Hobby Shop. This class is designed for new students with little to no wire wrapping experience, or students who want a refresher.
The course will focus on making a pendant using square copper wire, and will teach the basic techniques. These techniques allow students to keep things simple or add curl and flare as much as they like. Some of the techniques taught in class include measuring stones to determine how much wire will be needed for a project, creating your own designs, and proper handling and use of wire wrapping tools.
Registration for the class is $60, which provides admission to the class and a kit. The kit contains all the pieces necessary for the class, but also enough wire to do two to three more projects at home. A PDF set of instructions will be included with the kit, which also contains a $10 coupon to Lithos, where the class is held.
