Many Arvada runners are out training for the 10k Turkey Trek & 5k Turkey Trot coming in a couple of months.
The race will be a fundraiser for Community Table. Everyone is asked to bring food and personal care items, as well as Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus tokens, cards, and tickets. Names of those that donate five items or more will be entered into a raffle for prizes such as Promotional Products donated by local businesses.
Registration for the 10k Turkey Trek will be $45 through October, $50 through November and $60 on race day. The 5k Turkey Trot registration will be $35 through October, $40 in November and $50 on race day. The untimed 2K Turkey Toddle will cost $20 through October, $25 in November, and $30 on race day.
The event opens at 7:30 am for late packet collection and registration. The 10k will begin at 9:00 am followed by the 5k at 9:10 am, and the 2k at 9:15 am. The “Fill your Pie Hole Challenge” raffle drawing and the 2k overall awards will begin at 9:30 am, the “Egg Nog Chug Challenge” raffle will be at 9:50 am along with the 10k overall awards, and 5k awards will begin at 9:55 am. Awards for the 10k age groups will take place at 10:15 am, and the after-party will kick off at 10:30 am.
The 10k Turkey Trek will be Saturday, November 19th, at Long Lake Ranch Regional Park, 17850 W 64th Avenue.
