Music series returns to Old Towne

Arvada's Second Saturday Summer Concert Series and Street Festival will be having its first of four free events in mid-May.

Local artisans will be displaying and selling their artworks, while merchandise, drinks, and food will be sold by local vendors. Younger visitors will get to enjoy a kids’ zone. Attendees at events such as this often collect Business Cards from those artisans whose work they especially enjoy.

Live music will be on two stages. The Square Stage, located in Olde Town Square's North West corner, will feature Blankslate from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Night Routine from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Meanwhile, the Grandview Stage, in the parking lot between 12 Volt and Community Banks of Colorado on Grandview Avenue, will have Sour Magic from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and Boot Gun from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

The first event of the Second Saturday Summer Concert Series and Festival will take place Saturday, May 13.

The second will be on June 10 when the Square Stage will present Native Station from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Fresh Fruit! from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The Grandview Stage will offer Bear and the Beasts from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and The Elegant Plums from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

Other dates will be July 8 and August 12. Bands will include The Keeps, Hand Turkey, PJ Moon and the Swappers, Bradley Stroz, The Barlow, and Buckstein.
