Avarda to prepare for spring run
Avarda runners are getting ready to tackle this year’s All-Out Spring Fever 1 Mile, 5k, 10k and Half Marathon coming in toward the end of March. Proceeds will go to the Parkinson Association of the Rockies.
Swag will include white moisture-wicking gender specific T-shirts sporting this year’s green graphic design, personalized souvenir racing bibs, free race photos, brag tags, disposable timing chips and race-specific finisher medals. A post-race meal will be awaiting the in-person runners. The meal will be fruit, bagels, breakfast burritos, and chocolate milk.
There will be awards three-deep in each age division and overall. Prizes will be awarded to all runners who show their tickets when attending the award ceremony.
The course will traverse the Ralston Creek Trail that goes around the Blunn Reservoir. This course is said to challenge both neophyte and veteran athletes. Medical support will be available at the start, finish and along the course. Aid stations will hand out electrolytes and water every 1.4 miles along the route and at the finish line.
Registration for the in-person 5 is $45 and $40 for a virtual run. The in-person 10k will cost $55 and the virtual will be $45. The Half Marathon will cost $75 and its corresponding virtual event will be $55.
The running events will take place March 21 starting at 9:00 am at Jefferson County’s North Area Athletic Complex Stadium, 19500 W. 64th Parkway, Arvada.
