Though often misunderstood, snakes play an important role in their ecosystems, and during an Arvada-area event, the public will be offered a chance to learn more about them.
During Snakes and Stakes, those who sign up will have an opportunity to find out why snakes are so important to the environment they inhabit. It will be led by one of Lake Mountain Nature Center’s naturalists, who will discuss their life cycles, why they are important and even helpful to humans, and they will also seek to dispel some of the myths about snakes that have developed over the years. It will be a hands-on activity, and the participants will be offered the chance to get up close and personal, and even touch one of these scaly creatures.
The evening will be topped off with a marshmallow roast. It will be open to everyone, and the registration price will be $5 each or $15 for the whole family. Those who are interested in taking part are advised to register well ahead of time, as space is limited. Poster printing can be utilized to create promotional materials for an activity such as this.
This event has been planned for the Majestic View Nature Center on Wednesday, June 21, and more information about it can be found on the website.
