Arvada welcomes guitar festival

The Rocky Mountain Archtop Guitar Festival will be returning to Olde Town Arvada for three days in mid-September.

The music and guitar show will be celebrating science, art, and passion surrounding the archtop guitar. Local businesses will be hosting more than 30 clinics and workshops showcasing the talents of some world-class guitar builders. Guitar artists will be giving demonstrations and performances.

On the Friday, the Hilton Garden Inn will introduce the new blue guitars, hold a luthier exposition and demonstrations, and have an honor celebration for guitar educator and jazz guitarist Dale Bruning. The afternoon will include world class jazz trios.

Saturday's lineup will include the luthier exposition, a blues guitar performance, a 50th anniversary presentation for Linda Manzer, and Ted Ludwig and Friends. The evening will have Bruce Forman's Red Guitar, Torched, The Transatlantic Guitar Trio, and the Benedetto All Stars Afterglow Jam.

Sunday will bring the event to a close with the luthier exposition, Denver School for the Arts guitar ensembles, and a final afternoon of luthier demonstrations.

Archtop Guitar Exhibit passes are $35, Exhibit and Workshop passes are $80, and VVIP All Access passes are $450. The event has an interesting black-and-white signature graphic design of a guitar and mountain.

The Rocky Mountain Archtop Guitar Festival will be September 13 through 15 with music performances beginning the opening Friday night at 7:30 pm and going until Sunday afternoon at various sites.
