Runners here in Arvada will be turning out for the Spring Fling Prairie Dog Half Marathon, 10K and 5K a week into April.
Registration will be $75 for the half marathon, $45 for the 10K and $35 for the 5K. Swag items will include long-sleeve tech shirts for men and women sporting the annual graphic design, pint glasses, and finisher medals for those completing the half marathon.
Race day registration and packet pickup will begin at 7:00 am with the Expo opening a half hour later. The Kids Dash starts at 7:45 am. The half marathon will begin at 8:00 am, the 5K at 8:10 am and the 10K at 9:00 am. Awards will be handed out starting at 9:15 am for the 5K, and 10:15 am for the 10K and half marathon.
Proceeds will go to Community Table, a non-profit organization serving our community’s needy and vulnerable. Race participants are asked to bring five items to donate on the race day, and their names will be put into a prize raffle. They are also asked to bring gently used or new sneakers or running shoes to race day or packet pickup and donate them to Sneakers4funds.
The Spring Fling Prairie Dog Half, 10K and 5K has been scheduled for Sunday, April 10. The race expo and the start and finish lines will be at the Apex Center, 13150 W 72nd Avenue.
