Arvada’s calendar for February includes the Heart Throb 5k, which will be coming mid-month.
The Heart Throb 5k will be a fast flat run/walk in John Roberts Memorial Park. The course will be on concrete sidewalks and bike paths and weather conditions may affect the course and the run.
Spectators are welcome to turn out in support of their favorite runners, as this course is extremely spectator friendly. Especially avid spectators sometimes get a little banner printing done beforehand so they can have something to wave as they cheer.
Registration is $40, and swag includes a wide variety of colored T-Shirts featuring the event’s pink Heart Throb 5k Logo Design.
Community Table will be receiving canned goods at the event. The organization especially needs personal care items, oatmeal and cereals, canned fruit and tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, and pork and beans. Race attendees bringing five or more items will get their names entered in a raffle. Prizes such as Gift Certificates and race entries have been donated by local businesses.
Late packet pickup and race day registration will be from 8:30 am to 10:00 am when the 5k starts. The Pavilion will have the drawings and post-race awards beginning at 10:45 am and the after party at Hunter Bay Roasters and Colorado Tap House will begin at 10:30 am.
This year’s Heart Throb 5k is scheduled for Saturday, February 11 at 8004 W 59th Avenue.
