In a few days, Arvada runners will be lacing their sneakers and heading to the Spring Fling Prairie Dog Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Proceeds from the event will go to a local food bank, Community Table.
Swag will include light blue, gender specific, long-sleeved tech tees featuring this year’s graphic design and finisher pint glasses. Half marathon finishers will receive custom medals featuring Peedy the Prairie Dog.
Race participants are asked to bring at least five items to donate to Community Table. These may include peanut butter, canned fruit, conditioners, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoos, bar soaps, and body wash. Donors’ bib numbers will be entered in a raffle with prizes such as running gear, gift cards, and race vouchers.
After finishing the race, runners, and walkers can enjoy free photos, food, and shopping at the Expo. The Expo will run from 7:30 am until 11:30 am on race day. Awards will be given in age groups.
The in-person and virtual Half Marathons will cost $75 each. The in-person and virtual 10K will cost $45 and the in-person and virtual 5K costs $35. Prices will increase April 1.
