Many Arvada running enthusiasts will be beginning 2022 by taking on the Resolute Runner 5K on the first Saturday in January.
The course will begin at Johnny Roberts Memorial Park and traverse the scenic Ralston Creek Trail. Spectators can view the runner from three vantage points along the trial.
Runners and spectators are asked to bring five canned goods apiece for the Community Table, Arvada’s local food bank. Critical needs include pork and beans, cereals, canned fruit, peanut butter, spaghetti sauces, and canned tomatoes. Local businesses have donated prizes to the Resolute 5K such as Apparel, and Gift Certificates for a raffle.
Late packet pick-up, and registration will run from 8:30 am until 10:00 am. Start time will be 10:00 am and drawings at the pavilion and race awards will begin at 10:45 am. Awards will go to the top three women and three men overall finishers and to top male and female winners in 10 age categories.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, 5760 Olde Wadsworth Boulevard, will have the After-Party starting at 10:30 am. Runners can bring their IDs and bibs to get free chips and salsa.
The 5K will cost $40 and swag will include gender-specific T-Shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design. Those participants donating $100 or more to the Community Table will receive voucher codes for free race registration.
The Resolute Runner 5K will take place Saturday, January 1, at Johnny Roberts Memorial Park, 8155-8161 W 59th Avenue.
