Arvada learns about local snakes

The Majestic View Nature Center will be hosting a nighttime informational session about snakes in Jefferson County. This Arvada center hosts educational classes throughout the year, as well as having exhibits and activities open to the public.

Snakes Alive Campfire will allow attendees to roast marshmallows. This event is designed to be family-friendly, so children are welcome.

The main topic of conversation will be snakes. Specifics will include how to spot local snakes and identify them, and how to safely live and have fun in their natural habitats, and will get to meet live snakes.

Majestic View Nature Center is located off Garrison Street, and onsite parking is available. The center is connected to the Majestic View Community Park, which covers more than 80 acres of land, including Oberon Lakes. The park is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk, while the nature center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Events like this often take advantage of flyer printing. Educational Flyers with reminders or tips from the talk are an easy way to send information home with attendees. Spots can be held for this event for $5 per person, or $15 per family.

The campfire will take place on Saturday, June 29, with the campfire starting at 6:30 and ending at about 8:00 pm.
