Arvada gets out and rides

Arvada cyclists are gathering for three BikerFriendly Arvada Community Bike Rides in September.

The rides are non-competitive for all levels of abilities and are geared to families and casual riders. Riders will need to bring bikes, helmets, water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and adventurous attitudes. They are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes early.

This Saturday, September 9, cyclists can enjoy the Tri-Creek Ride. This will be a new 18.5-mile loop recreational ride on Little Dry Creek Trail, Clear Creek Trail, and Ralston Creek Trail. Riders will leave at 9:00 am at Gold Strike Park, 5555 W 56th Avenue.

The following Saturday, September 16, a Family and Rec Pizza Ride will be a short family trek, along with a 10-mile recreation option. Both will begin at Van Bibber Creek Trail Park East, with the shorter family ride breaking off at Ralston Road and returning to the park. The recreational riders will continue on Ralston Road and travel over 15 miles before ending back at the park. Participants will get pizza and soft drinks at the park after the rides.

A Beginner and/or Bring a Friend will leave at 9:00 am from the Olde Town Arvada Square on Saturday, September 30. Cyclists will proceed to Wolff Park Arvada Bike Loop. Family riders can navigate the well-marked trail for four miles, and the recreational riders can continue their eight-mile rides.
