Arvada celebrates WinterFest

This year is the second annual WinterFest held in Olde Town Arvada. This event is hosted by the Arvada Festivals Commission, and focuses on a culturally-driven community event.

WinterFest is a cultural event, featuring booths and tables from around the world. The cultures are all based on residents of Arvada, showcasing the variety of peoples. There is also art and live entertainment at this event.

Guests can sit through demonstrations, including ice sculpting. Jefferson County Library will have storytellers to entertain children of all ages. There will be a variety of booths with other winter-themed foods, attractions, and other entertainment. ‘Passports’ will be available for the kids, and booths will stamp them.

The Arvada Festivals Commission has been working since 2000 to bring free family festivals to the community of Arvada. In general, it hosts five festivals a year. These events are planned to be diverse, to better reflect the population of their city.

WinterFest will be taking place in McIlvoy Park. Parking can be found at multiple lots throughout the area, most of which are within easy walking distance of the park. Events such as this often use banner printing to help advertise and to make the community more aware. The festival is currently scheduled to run from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 23. This event is free and open to the public.
