Arvada celebrates the Kite Festival

The Arvada Festivals Commission presents the Kite Festival this year as one of their annual family-oriented outings.

The Kite Festival will give families a chance to get outdoors and fly kites. There will also be workshops before the event allowing children to make their own kites. The kite-making classes will be held at Majestic View on the Friday and Saturday before the festival. The classes will be held for children ages four to ten. Materials will be provided, and participants will be shown how to make their own kites. Those wishing to attend should confirm ahead of time; the cost is $5 per child.

The kite festival itself will be held on a Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. The festival will be held at the Stenger Soccer Complex off of 58th and Oak Street. There will be a DJ, local vendors, food stalls and trucks, and free activities and crafts for kids. Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets, but no grills. Parking is available on site; attendees should note that the gates will close at 4:30 pm, and all vehicles must be moved by then.

The Arvada Festivals Commission was created to organize events focused on the community of Arvada, reflecting both the diversity and the depth of this community. This event and the commission are volunteer-based. Many free public events like this one benefit greatly from advertising with poster printing. The Kite Festival is scheduled for April 7.
