Tustin shows its artistic side

Tustin’s 7th Annual Old Town Art Walk is coming up fast, and looks set to be bustling with creative energy.

Fine art, children’s artwork, and sidewalk creations will be available for viewing. Along with art, attendees can take part in a photo contest or enjoy some live music.

Individuals can also hop aboard a bus tour to see historic Tustin, with four separate tours taking place over the course of the day. Riders can board where El Camino Real meets Main Street. On the day of the art walk, free tickets are available at the Tustin Area Historical Museum.

From noon until 4:00 pm, wine tastings will be available at The Black Marlin: a bar, fish house, and grill. Guests can pay $10 for five samples. The proceeds will help the Tustin Preservation Conservancy.

Some of the fine art pieces will be on sale. Due to the event’s popularity, artists may have used a business card printing service to make a card to hand out to prospective buyers.

Another highlight is the ‘Plein Air’ contest. In other words, artists are to paint outside while viewing their subject.

The contest takes place from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm on October 15 through 17, prior to the start of the art walk, with $2,000 in awards up for grabs. The walk follows it on October 18 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
