Tustin’s Veterans Sports Park is screening the Pixar film “Cars” later this week.
As part of the Movies in the Park series put on by Tustin Parks and Recreation, the event includes activity booths, local vendors, and food carts
People are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets as Veterans Sports Park features a spacious lawn and baseball fields. The park is known for hosting a variety of other recreation opportunities, including having courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball, a soccer field, a splash pad, a picnic shelter, and a Veterans’ Memorial sculpture featuring a bald eagle.
“Cars” centers on hotshot racer Lightning McQueen, played by Owen Wilson. Just as he is on the verge of his hubris getting the best of him, he is detoured into a small town off of Route 66 called Radiator Springs. He must work with the unassuming locals to find his way back on track to the big race.
Based on a $70m budget, "Cars" hauled a worldwide box office of $461m upon its release back in 2006, with subsequent DVD and Blu-ray sales making an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars more.
Movie screenings like this may choose to use poster printing for low-cost promotion in the community.
“Cars” will be screened this Friday, August 7 at 6:00 pm at the Veterans Sports Park at 1645 Valencia Avenue in Tustin.
