A company in Tustin will be focusing on an iconic band for one of its multi-day summer camps in early August.
School of Rock focuses on giving children access to music, both through selling instruments and running lessons. The local location is giving students the opportunity to explore the tunes of the legendary rock band Green Day.
Hits like “Basket Case,” “American Idiot,” “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” and “Wake Me up When September Ends” continue to be popular even decades after their release. Campers will be exploring the Green Day discography during the experience. In addition to learning a few songs, the students will work on stage presence and performance techniques. At the end of the five-day lesson, participants will get to take the stage and show their loved ones and the community what they have been working on.
The activity is available to musicians between 7 and 18 years old. It is recommended that those who participate have gone through some previous instruction. Parents must provide their campers with hearing protection, water, snacks, and lunch each day, as the activities will run between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Tickets are found on SoR's website, priced at $549. Flyer printing commonly promotes music shows and lessons.
The experience will run from Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 11.
