For more than 20 years now, Santa has been riding through the streets and neighborhoods of Tustin and welcoming children onto his sleigh. He usually gets at a police escort that would act as the herald of his arrival. Printing services are often used to attract attention to street displays.
The pandemic meant that Santa almost canceled his Orange County trip this year. Instead,he decided to make a few adjustments to this year’s Christmas tour so that the show could go on. For example, the sleigh was not able to stop and welcome children on board. Though not being able to board the sleigh was a disappointment, kids were still happy to see the sleigh stop near the homes.
Many parents have had to cancel their long-standing holiday traditions, and most of them were glad to see that Santa would show up no matter what. Charlene Debar, a mom who lives in Tustin, said to CBS Los Angeles:
“Tonight was so special for me, because this year we’re not taking the kids to see Santa with COVID and everything, so this is the only shot they got.”
Mrs. Claus and Santa were grateful for the opportunity to prove that not even the coronavirus can stop Christmas.
