Leprechaun race leaps into town

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this month, Tustin locals can put on their favorite green attire and take part in a festive race.

The 4th Annual Leprechaun Leap 5K features a fast course. Dogs, strollers, and walkers are also invited to participate.

After the race, participants can enjoy live entertainment at the expo, at which guests can visit a wide variety of booths. Expo spaces cost $200 for members and $250 for nonmembers. It is likely companies with an expo booth have utilized a business card printing service to create cards to distribute at the event.

Registration costs $40 for adults, and $18 for those who are under 18. Registrants will be given a T-shirt and a medal. For $100, individuals can register to be a Leprechaun Leap VIP. This option gives participants access to the VIP tent, preferred parking, private toilets, a special shirt and photo, and refreshments.

Teams can also register in groups of five or more and groups must be in a ‘snake formation’. To be eligible for an award, teams need to finish the race together.

Tustin’s Chamber of Commerce organized the race. Some of the event’s proceeds will go to help local nonprofit organizations like ‘Heroes and Healthy Families’.

It all takes place on Sunday, March 15 at the District at Tustin Legacy, located on 2237 Park Avenue. Registration begins at 7:00 am and the 5K starts at 8:00 am. Starting at 9:00 am, awards will be given out.
