Iconic group to put new show on local stage

An event in mid-September will be a showcase of a lesser-known musical genre for Tustin area residents.

Pentatonix is a quintet of acapella performers who not only do covers of popular tunes, but also put together original works, and they are heading out for another world tour.

The group’s current members are Matt Sallee, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, Scott Hoying, and Mitch Grassi. Avi Kaplan was with the group in the beginning, being replaced by Sallee in 2017. Winning “The Sing-Off” in 2011, the band continues to evolve and explore what they are able to do.

Some of the group’s original tracks include “Love Me When I Don’t,” “A Little Space” with ATEEZ, “Happy Now,” “Anchor,” and “Coffee In Bed.” Their latest release is a cover of Radiohead’s hit “Creep.”

The tour will be jumping onto the FivePoint Ampitheatre stage. Live Nation is selling the VIP packs and tickets for the event. Often, VIP offerings will include merchandise items which have a unique graphic design included in the benefits. The cost of these bundles are $338 and $389. General admission seats start at $29.50, with the highest price being a resale ticket at $5,113.

Lauren Alaina will join Pentatonix for the performance, which kicks off at 8:00pm. The date for the concert is Monday, September 11th.
