The annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place soon. People from across Tustin are invited to attend the family friendly event. In addition to the ceremony, there will also be live entertainment, special readings, and various performances by local groups.
Special guests at the Lighting will include Santa Claus, the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, and of course the Mayor. Kids can have their pictures taken with the man in red while adults can enjoy the music on the stage provided by carolers, kids from Pioneer Middle School, and performances by other groups such as Girl Scout Troop 122, The Academy of Dance, Ballet Folklorico, and Tesoros de Mexico.
There will also be a reading of ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ by children from a yet to be named community group. Refreshments will be sold on site courtesy of Tustin Community Foundation.
Those who plan to attend will need to dress for the weather and may want to bring cameras for taking pictures. The city also requests that people bring gifts to donate to Senior Santa, and may want to use flyer printing to highlight this campaign.
The ceremony will be sponsored by the City of Tustin Parks and Recreation Depart and held Friday, December 4, starting at 6:00 pm at Tustin City Hall/Library Courtyard 300 Centennial Way, Tustin. The event and parking will be free. Proceeds from the hot beverages will go towards maintaining the Community Foundation.
