A series of open house workshops is being held by the City of Stockton Community Development Department.
These workshops are designed to enable members of the community to provide their feedback on various aspects of shaping the future of Stockton. These workshops will be used to improve and update zoning, design standards, development, and neighborhoods, and will help the city to update its new Housing and Neighborhood Action Development and Code, Design Standards, Housing Element Plans.
The workshops will be held at the Caesar Chavez Library on N. El Dorado Street in Stockton from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Spanish language interpreters will be available at all workshops. Poster printing is often used to garner interest in such workshops and encourage participation within the community.
The workshop topics and their dates will be as follows:
• Housing Land Inventory on Tuesday, February 28
• Planning Commission Design Standards on Thursday, March 9
• Miracle Mile Zoning on Thursday, March 16
• Housing Element on Tuesday, April 10
• Housing Action Plan on Wednesday, April 19
• Downtown Zoning on Tuesday, April 25
• Magnolia and Design District Zoning on Wednesday, April 26
The Stockton Planning Commission will also be hosting a Housing Element Study Session on Thursday, April 27 in the Council Chamber at City Hall, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Additional workshops are planned for the future on the Manila/Gleason, South Airport, and Cabral neighborhoods.
