Stockton festival to return this spring

Asparagus will be taking pride of place during the upcoming Stockton Asparagus Festival, and everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun.

The event, which has proved to be popular in previous years, is expected to draw a crowd of as many as 85,000 people to the area. There will be dishes prepared using this springtime vegetable, as well as a health and wellness fair, live entertainment, the ‘Asparagus Alley’, craft and other vendors, a beer and wine pavilion, carnival rides for the kids, and a recipe contest.

New for this year will be some asparagus dishes that have been prepared especially for the event. Asparagus will be served up with everything from nachos to hot dogs, soups, and more, and the unusual treats of asparagus ice cream and deep fried asparagus will be back for another year. Promotional Drinkware and other branded food service items for an event like this can be provided by a Print company.

Last year, the food that was not served during the event was donated to an assortment of local food banks and other not-for-profit groups. The organizers say they are hoping to increase the involvement of charitable groups this year.

The festival will take place from April 21 until 23 in the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. Additional information has been made available on the event’s website.
