Stockton’s own American Hockey League team will be hosting a special event that brings sport and science fiction together in an evening its organizers hope will be fun for all.
The Stockton Heat hockey team, which is a farm team for the NHL’s Calgary Flames, has partnered with the 501st Legion California Garrison to hold Star Wars Night. Fans will have an opportunity to meet and have their photos taken with characters in costume, and they are highly encouraged to wear their best Star Wars outfit as well. Banners, Signs and other Star Wars themed decorations, can be custom designed for a special occasion such as this, and if they are made from durable materials, they can be used again next year.
As a bonus, the first thousand kids to come out will be given their own Youth Heat Replica Jersey. The Stockton Heat mascot Frankie the Firebird will also be on hand to greet the public. They event not only offers a fun time, it will help the community as a portion of the proceeds from the night will be donated to a not for profit organization.
March 4th is the date that has been selected for this evening of sports and sci-fi.
