Springtime is asparagus time in Stockton

Spring has arrived, and in Stockton, that means it is time for an event that celebrates one of the area’s favorite springtime vegetables.

This is the seventh year for the Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out. It will give individuals and families a chance to help support local farmers and restaurateurs, while at the same time offering them an opportunity to try the spears in a way they may not have even thought of.

Participating eateries will be preparing a variety of dishes using locally grown asparagus that has come fresh from the fields of San Joaquin Valley. It will be featured in everything from appetizers to desserts and even drinks.

In order to help get the word out about the event, an assortment of contests, giveaways, and other promotions have been put into place, and photos have been placed online to show some of the recipes that area chefs have come up with. The Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out will take place from April 1 until April 15.
