Running event to show its true colors

People are invited to come out and make a colorful statement this weekend, with a fun-packed running event taking place in Stockton.

Participants in the new ‘Run or Dye 5K Run’ will become a personal canvas for the volunteers, who will be standing along the route and throwing multi-colored non-toxic corn starch at them as they pass by.

This 5K fun run is a fundraiser, and some of its proceeds will go to the YMCA. The run organizers probably used flyer printing to advertise this colorful event to residents in the community and throughout the area.

This run offers several dye stations, and voting will take place on what colours will get blasted at the runners along the route. After the run, the participants will have the opportunity to attend the renowned Dye Festival, where an explosion of color will be released into the sky to celebrate fun, fitness, friendship, and life. To add to the fun, guests are encouraged to arrive in a crazy costume.

Registration costs $47 per person, or $42 per person if part of a team of four or more. The Run or Dye 5K Run will be happening on Saturday, April 26, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds located at 1658 S. Airport Way in Stockton, California. To register online, go to the Visit Stockton website.
