Major food drive to come to Stockton

The 25th Anniversary Stuff in the Bus Food Drive is being held by the San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD). This event is designed to bring together organizations and individuals to support those who face food insecurity.

There will be many opportunities in Stockton for the donation of food. It is expected that many people will participate in this food drive to help those in need during the holiday season. RTD will be accepting non-perishable food donations, as well as monetary donations for the purchase of fresh produce and other needed groceries.

The Emergency Food Bank of San Joaquin and Stockton will benefit from all monetary and food donations collected during the Stuff the Bus food drive. Poster printing is often used to promote such charitable events throughout the community.

A frozen ham, turkey, or chicken can be donated to Stockton Food 4 Less on West Hammer Lane. Those who donate have a chance to win Food 4 Less gift card worth $50. Donations will be accepted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm this Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18, and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 19.

The University of the Pacific will be holding both men’s and women’s basketball games. Anyone who brings five or more non-perishable food items to either game on Monday, November 20 will receive free admission to the game.
