Fundraiser to be held for students in Stockton

The San Joaquin Delta College Foundation of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton will be holding a virtual fundraiser next month.

“Delta Springing Forward” is looking to raise money for assistance with transportation and Books and scholarships for its students. In a recent survey it was found that 60 percent of its students struggle to meet their basic needs every day. In addition, 18 percent were homeless, 31 percent have experienced housing, and 42 percent experienced food insecurity.

During the event, there will be stories from current students as well as alumni who found that Delta sparked their passion for life and work. Organizations and members of the community will learn how their donations can help students both now and in the future. Poster printing is often used to promote such events and their efforts at fundraising throughout the community.

San Joaquin Delta College serves the culturally diverse community of the Central Valley of California and beyond. It is committed to providing students with experience, knowledge, and training they need for careers in the 21st century through high-quality and innovative education.

The event will be held by Dr. Omid Pourzanjani, the president and superintendent of the college; the Delta College Foundation Board of Directors; and students and alumni of Delta College. It will be on Thursday April 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
