Dean of the University of the McGeorge School of Law of the University of the Pacific, Michael Hunter Schwartz, was recently named interim provost of the university. The university has campuses in Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco.
Such appointments can be made known throughout all campuses of such universities through poster printing and other types of printer materials.
Schwartz has been Dean at the law school since July 2017. His main accomplishment there has been the development of a strategic plan that has attracted more highly-qualified applicants to create a stronger school. Consequently, the number of applicants is double the national average and for the fall semester 2018 the school had its largest incoming class since 2012.
Schwartz commented that he is honored to be serving in this role for the university. The faculty and staff at Pacific are passionate about serving its students and he is looking forward to helping the university in whatever way he can.
Maria Pallavicini who is now the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs will become the interim president beginning July 1. She added that Dean Schwartz has been an energetic and enthusiastic leader of the law school and she believes he will be able to guide the university forward in his new role.
Schwartz’s duties as interim provost will focus on maintaining the research and Academic standards at the university.
