The Santa Clara University Library will hold an author talk in February with Dr. Joshua A. Miele to discuss his newest work.
Those interested in learning about Dr. Joshua A. Miele’s book Connecting Dots: A Blind Life can attend an interview with him at the Santa Clara University Library’s Learning Commons. The book is a memoir that gives readers a look into Miele’s life as a designer and scientist. His story shares intimate details about what it was like growing up after an incident left him blind at the age of four. There will be refreshments at the author talk, and Miele will be available to sign Copies of his book.
Dr. Miele is an author and disability scholar who went to school at the University of California at Berkeley. He has been working at the Smith-Kettlewell Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Blindness and Low Vision for over 20 years. Miele was involved with several projects, such as The Blind Arduino Project, East Bay Center for the Blind, and The Center for Accessibility and Open Source.
The author talk with Dr. Miele will be held on February 25th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Those interested in attending the interview can register in advance. There will also be a discussion about Miele’s new book at the Central Book Club on February 23rd. Libraries that organize local programs like this may use flyer printing to advertise these events to more people.
