The City of Santa Clara will organize a festive event in December at Central Park, with several themed activities.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony at Central Park is a seasonal holiday experience for families where they can watch live performances from local entertainers. Attendees can expect to see shows from dance troupes, choirs, and bands from the community. The Santa Clara Firefighters will host a toy drive as part of the ceremony. People can participate by dropping off unwrapped toys for those aged 17 and under at the Community Risk Reduction Office, or any local fire station. The drive runs until December 12.
One new addition to this year’s ceremony will be the Holiday Market. Several local artisans will have booths at the marketplace, including Pastel by Ece, Evolve with Mary, and Ceramics by Jane. There will also be booths at the market from organizations like the Santa Clara City Library, the Santa Clara Swim Club, and Silicon Valley Power. Food will also be available to purchase at Central Park from some of the participating vendors.
The lighting ceremony will be on Friday, December 5 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The event is family friendly and free to the public. No registration is required for guests to visit the holiday marketplace or watch the tree lighting. Cities that host festive traditions like this may use flyer printing to share information with their residents.
