This spring, a new exhibit will be opening in Santa Clara’s Triton Museum of Art. Titled ‘Bright Dark’, it comes from artist Sanaz Mazinani.
The inspiration for this exhibit came in part from archaeology. The artist was interested in exploring the way in which a visual impression informs the critical, intellectual perspective. Mazinani uses a mixture of techniques in this exhibit, including reflective surfaces, bistable images, and grayscale with touches of color. This exhibit was designed to be a reflective space where guests could ponder these topics and more.
Mazinani uses multiple techniques to encourage viewers to think more deeply about her art. She uses mirrors to capture the viewer in the work as a subject, and even uses political ideology of a sort in examining how bodies are viewed politically, and how these views are superficial.
The Triton Museum of Art is located on Warburton Ave. Free parking is available on site. The museum is free and open to guests of all ages, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Events like this often use flyer printing to their benefit, and are likely to attract locals with an interest in art and graphic design. This special exhibit is set to open on Saturday, May 11 and run for three months, with a special opening reception on Friday, May 17.
