Santa Clara continues longstanding festival tradition

This year, the St. Clare Parish will be holding its festival. This festival was started in 1946 and continues to raise funds for the community.

The festival will be held on the parish grounds on Washington Street, near Santa Clara University. It is likely that the festival will take over the parish parking lot, as there will be rides, games, and raffles set up for the event. Attendees should plan to park in the surrounding area, much of which has street parking available, and there is a residential community in the area as well.

The festival is primarily a fundraiser for the community, not just for the church. The event will feature rides, games, and multicultural foods. Music will vary by day, but the rest of the activities will be open for the duration of the event.

The event itself is free, but the rides, food, and games can be purchased with tickets. Tickets are separated into three categories: “bucks”, raffles, and rides. Ride wristbands can be purchased for $50 per day, or $100 for all three days. Raffle tickets are $5 each and could potentially win a variety of prizes. The festival “bucks” are used for individual rides or games as well as for food. The number of “bucks” may change per item.

This event will run for three days. On Friday, June 7 the festival will open at 5:00 pm and close at 10:00 pm. Saturday, June 8, will run from noon to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, June 9 from noon to 6:00 pm. It may use flyer printing to help what is happening.
