Santa Clara County announced that it has completed a host of renovations at its two main hospitals, as well as the DePaul Health Center in Morgan Hill. Several other upgrade projects are also nearing completion.
The two hospitals in Santa Clara where work is finished are O’Connor Hospital and St. Louise Regional Hospital. The county reported that $90m was spent on improving the facilities and stocking them with new equipment.
In addition to that, $80m went towards installing electronic systems for recording health. This new system allows patients to get quick access to their medical reports and health information, and gives them a way to communicate with their healthcare providers directly. Physicians and other healthcare providers can use the system to order tests and send prescriptions directly to the pharmacy, which will make it easier for them to provide care to their patients.
Visitors to St. Louise hospital will notices that the exterior has a new coat of paint. They may also observe that there is new equipment for monitoring patients as well as new additions to the intensive care units and the maternity unity. New CT scanning equipment was added to the hospital and 40 more hospital beds have been purchased. The next set of brochure printing for the hospitals will no doubt feature the new equipment.
Morgan Hill’s DePaul Center benefited from repairs to the roof, however the entire roof will be replaced in 2020.
