Comedic dance performance heads into Santa Clara venue

A show combining dance and a comedic story is taking to the stage in Santa Clara in late March.

Coppélia originated in France in 1870. Arthur Saint-Léon teamed up with past partners Charles Nuitter and Léo Delibes to create the ballet. The show tells the story of an Austrian doll maker, who crafts a mechanical doll that looks highly realistic. Franz and Swanilda are an engaged couple, each of whom have their own reasons to investigate this mysterious doll. A three-act show, there should be plenty of laughs along the way.

This edition is put together by Los Gatos Ballet. The company hosts performances in addition to its educational programs. The goal for Los Gatos Ballet is to provide everyone with the opportunity to learn dance, while also creating an improved sense of empowerment. In addition to dance programs, the studio offers Pilates classes.

Tickets for public shows are found through Los Gatos Ballet webpage, along with an outreach performance specifically for schools in the local area. For the three shows open to everyone, the tickets are $30, $40, and $50. There is no age limit for the event. The venue is Santa Clara University’s Mayer Theatre. Flyer printing often aids theatrical events in the advertising process.

Two shows take place on March 23, starting at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The final performance is at 2:00 pm on March 24.
