A traveling version of a show based around a beloved fairytale is hitting a nearby city for six days in late June. Santa Clara fans of Peter Pan will be keen to attend the experience.
Peter Pan was a play originally created in 1904. The author, J.M. Barrie, drew inspiration from fantastical games and stories he shared with the children of his friend, Arthur Llewellyn Davies and Arthur’s wife Sylvia. The most well-known take on the story is the 1953 Disney film.
The story follows a trio of siblings (Wendy, Michael, and John Darling), who travel with Peter Pan, a boy who does not age, as well as his fairy friend Tinker Bell, to a place known as “Never Land.”
The musical adds the element of song, with this version being nearly seven decades old. The venue, the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, is offering several accessibility options, with performances dedicated to one of the needs at a time, as well as a few regular showings.
Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster. A discount code for a pre-show experience on the 26th is also available there. The prices span a range of $39 to $450. The first four dates have a single performance, three at 7:00pm and one at 7:30pm. On the two weekend dates, there are matinee runs too, at 1:00pm and 2:00pm, with the evening shows at 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Poster printing is a common type of advertising for stage performances/musicals. The dates are June 25th through to the 30th.
